About TINMEL

The Art of Teaching: Our Learning Journey

At Fondation Dar Si Hmad, our principle is simple but with far-reaching potential and impact. Based on the significant Brundtland Report (1987), we also believe that when we define sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” We have the moral obligation then to care for our resources, and also pass this knowledge to younger generations, future stewards of this planet.

Our Four Programs

Education is Our Commitment: Empowering Through Knowledge

Water School (Children)

Environmental education making fog science, hygiene, and water conservation accessible to Anti-Atlas children.

Adult Training (Community)

Permaculture, soil regeneration, seed saving, and cactus farming taught hands-on at ABA farm and TINQ garden.

Seed Library Learning

Hands-on sessions at Tin’Amoud, the region’s first seed library, preserving heirloom Amazigh grains.

Community Knowledge Exchange

Workshops where community members, students, and volunteers learn from each other in the field.

Why TINMEL Matters

Our Approach: Immersion, Community, and Transformation

Learning by Doing in the Landscape

Children and adults learn outdoors, hands in soil, eyes on fog, feet on the mountain paths

Multi-Generational Knowledge Transfer

Elders share ancestral wisdom while youth bring energy, curiosity, and digital fluency

Rooted in Amazigh Culture and Language

Tamazight language, traditions, and ecological knowledge are central to all programs
